Paul Bonfanti

Lead Consultant

Paul Bonfanti is the founder and lead consultant of Bonfanti Consulting, LLC.  His entire career has been based on the belief that nonprofits are the best way to make positive social change, and he partners with nonprofits to create innovative solutions to deepen their impact.   With almost 30 years of experience in the sector, Paul has supported dozens of nonprofits to fulfill their missions through evaluation, strategic planning, organizational development, grant strategy, and more.

Paul has worked on evaluation projects for a national research university as well as nonprofit practitioners around the country, so he is able to merge the rigor of the academic approach with the real world needs of nonprofits.  He recognizes that an evaluation or a strategic plan is only as good as the actionable items in it, and his work focuses on developing realistic action steps.

Paul has worked in such diverse sub-sectors as child abuse prevention, housing and homelessness, public-private partnerships, education, mental health, early childhood development, social determinants of health, community organizing, parks and open space, social justice, and the US Census.

Paul has a passion for small nonprofits (and wrote his graduate thesis on them!). He is well versed on the unique challenges small nonprofits face and has worked with as a consultant or board member to help them turn their size and flexibility into an advantage.

Previous work experience has included Families Forward, Charitable Ventures, Villanova University, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.  He has also taught in Villanova University’s Master of Public Administration Program, co-designing and teaching courses in Nonprofit Administration and Statistics.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Drew University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Villanova University.

Paul has served on five nonprofit boards in his career, currently serves on the religious education and nominating committees for his church, and is a volunteer running coach for We Rock, a program that trains teenagers to run marathons.  He lives in Aliso Viejo with his wife and twin daughters.

Paul is supported by a team of evaluators, facilitators, and specialists who can support the specific needs of your nonprofit. The two young ladies pictured above are not consultants. Yet.
